Played university field hockey. Currently enjoys basketball, golf, tennis, running and karate. Dr. Jenny Gusba is a scientist with a background in exercise physiology and sport nutrition. Jenny’s research focused on carbohydrate metabolism during and after exercise, and in her current role she leads GSSI work in Canada, with a focus on hockey and soccer. Jenny also leads athlete testing and research in collaboration with Dr. Lawrence Spriet at the University of Guelph.

Jenny completed her bachelor’s degree in human kinetics at the University of Guelph and her master’s degree from the University of Western Ontario in Kinesiology. In 2008, Jenny was awarded her doctorate at the University of Guelph from the Human Health and Nutritional Sciences department. Jenny is passionate about bringing the long history of research, athlete testing, and education from the GSSI in the United States to athletes in Canada.
