Scientific background

Originally from England, Vinay is a scientist for the Gatorade Sport Science Institute’s Bradenton, based in Florida. Vinay earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Hertfordshire (UK) before embarking on a soccer scholarship and competing a Master’s Degree in similar field at Lindenwood University 2016-2019.

Vinay completed his undergraduate dissertation on the effect of hydration on heart rate and distance travelled during training and post graduate research looked at heart rate variability during small sided games in female collegiate soccer players. During his studies, Vinay spent time working in the respective Human Performance labs where he had the opportunity to work on various research projects such as, energy expenditure, testing of sports drink, body composition and exercise physiology. Vinay supported the collegiate athlete teams by introducing innovate Sport Science principles into teams, periodization, including training intensity and load, recovery modalities. 

Away from the lab, Vinay has worked in an applied sport setting and most recently with FC Cincinnati as an Academy Sport Scientist. In addition, he has experience working with Statsports as an account manager/ Sport Scientist educating teams on how to implement GPS units for training and games. Prior to this role, he worked as a Soccer/ Performance coach at Stetson University, where he assisted in all areas relating to the operation of the program. In his down time, Vinay enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring the area & playing a wide range of sports & coaching soccer.
