SSE 267: Functional Ingredients for The Athlete and Beyond 

Course Objectives

  • Analyze the scientific evidence supporting the health benefits of creatine, lactoferrin, alpha-lactalbumin, and phospholipid-rich whey protein for both athletes and the general population.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of different supplementation formats and dosages for these functional ingredients compared to their natural occurrence in food sources.
  • Assess the potential challenges in consumer education and product development for maximizing the benefits of these ingredients.
