Jackie Rea is a Scientist at the GSSI satellite lab at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. Before coming to GSSI, Jackie was a clinical research coordinator at Manatee Memorial Hospital, working in the cardiology department. During her time there, she oversaw the progression of 19 trials, investigating areas in atrial fibrillation, pulmonary embolism, and lower limb ischemia. While at the University of South Florida – St. Pete, Jackie gained experience in technical writing and published a paper with her physics professor on the effects of cholesterol on the bilayer lipid membrane. Pursuing another one of her passions, she wrote a 30-page term paper delving into the ways different parts of the world utilize their native plants for medicine. Jackie hopes to further her expertise in research studies and gain more writing experience while at GSSI. In her free time, Jackie enjoys playing volleyball and having friends and family over for dinner and board game nights.
